This legal training manual is a comprehensive material developed to train professionals on the Law against Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C) in Guinea Bissau. It comprises: (i) a section on key information on FGM/C, review of international, regional, and national contexts as well as an analysis of FGM/C as a form of violence against women; (ii) a section on existing international and regional legal framework on FGM/C; (iii) a section on the national legal framework on FGM/C; (iv) and a section with procedural guidelines and existing case law. Throughout these sections, additional readings and audience-engaging exercises and debates are suggested. This legal training manual aims to provide a complete and up-to-date knowledge of the legal framework surrounding FGM/C in Guinea Bissau in order to improve law enforcement and help professionals to best exercise their work and protect citizens from this crime.
